The event village will be located in the Upper Dog Exercise area of Halswell Quarry.

The course starts on a grassy field.  After entering the singletrack there is short steep downhill section (Download) before beginning a steady climb up through the trees (C2).  Heading out in the open along Crocodile there are two passing opportunities before you turn around at the Poplars.  Riders will be directed along the rocky bed of the creek before rejoining the gently climbing 4WD section of Deviation where more passing can occur.  Then it is descending on singletrack.  There is a jump at the bottom of Deviation and then the track flows in to flowy Lower Deviation.  At the end of Lower Deviation riders will veer right and climb back up along Crocodile (one passing line) though the trees before coming back down Croc pot, a rougher, rootier, off-camber track.  Passing back through the noticeboard area riders will ascend the mostly (but not entirely) gentle Elegator.  Elegator has a three passing lines.  At the end of Elegator riders in the men’s age group and women’s races can choose to ride down the shorter steeper Spurious (A Line) or the longer gentler Off-the-cuff (B Line) before exiting on Down and Out and heading straight in to another climb.  At the end of Elegator riders in the Elite Men’s race can choose to ride down the steep Coopers Creek (A Line) or Spurious (B Line) before exiting on Down and Out (3 options) and heading straight in to another climb. Upper Crust has a lovely steep entry (though you can go round it if you wish) then climbs at a fairly steady gradient but is not particularly technical, although it has a few switchbacks.  The track merges on to Murphs which is more technical and finishes with a rocky section which leads you on to the new purpose built rock garden.  There is an alternative line if you don’t want to ride the rock garden.  After riding around the edge of the pond, riders will climb the twisty Upload to pop back out to the event village area.
